Historical Geography - Number Four

This information comes from Geography of the Bible by Denis Baly in 1957. This chapter was great just like all the chapters. It was also already very concise, and short enough it was just easier to post the chapter. Just remember the information about temperature, humidity, and precipitation is from, at least, the 1957 time period. I am not sure if they use Celsius or Fahrenheit in Israel and other near by countries, but as Americans we should be familiar with both.

Seasons in Israel
Summer - June through September
Winter - January, February, and March
Rainy Season – mid October to mid May
April must be an intersession type of season in Israel

Jordan River Expedition

Israel shares shores with many countires.  Sharing shores means there are other countries on the other side of the body of water from Israel that has a shore.  Our Jordan River Expedition will involve the shore sharing of many countries that have a shore line in the Red and Great Seas.  For example, some of the other countires are:  Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Italy, Tunisia, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon.  Our inland expedition will involve other countires that share the same drainage basin of the Jordan River.  Then there are the geological aspects of where we will be traveling that extend into other countires and regions, so this is just not solely an Israel focus.  With the climate and atmospheric considerations, our trip's focus gets even bigger.  We are Americans, so it should be quite a trip.

Sand Dollar poem for my niece.

Sand Dollars are very fragile, so you have to be very careful with them because they will break easy. I took one of the common verses about the Sand Dollar and made a poem that you will find below, for my niece. I found one of the common verses to prelude into another common verse about footprints in the sand, but I did not do a prelude poem leading into that other verse about footprints in the sand. I will do it later. Hope you like this.

WITH MY SAND DOLLAR

I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT

JESUS CHRIST AND REBECCA AT THE WELL

FOUND IN THIS LOVELY SHELL

LOOK CLOSER AND

YOU WILL SEA

FOUR EAR RINGS AND A STONE

MADE BY A ROMAN'S HAND

ON ONE SIDE IS THE EASTER LILY

ON THE OTHER SIDE IS

THE POINSETTIA ETCHED

A STAR IN THE CENTER

TO THE SHEPHERDS APPEARED

A STAR THAT TOOK THEM TO ISREAL

THIS REMINDS US OF JESUS CHRIST,

OUR HAPPY CHRISTMASTIDE

THE LOVELY SHELL BROKE OPEN,

ACCIDENTLY ONE DAY

RELEASED WERE FIVE WHITE DOVES

NOWHERE TO GO, BUT TO TELL THE NEWS

THIS POEM

WAS LEFT FOR US

TO UNDERSTAND

WHEN A GIFT BREAKS

WHEN JESUS HEARD OF THIS

ACCIDENTAL GIFT BREAKING

HE RELEASED FIVE WHITE DOVES

BY THE BROKEN SHELL

HE MADE A LOVELY BOTTLE
